Skillshare...my new obsession

In preparation for moving back to the high school, I've been loosely plotting a scope & sequence for classes I will be teaching. One of which is new to me: cartooning. A little nervous about my skills...I discovered an amazing teacher, Christine of might-could on skillshare and consumed....ummm maybe four of her classes this weekend. Ok. It was five. I watched five classes. Her thoughtful and well organized classes have got me so pumped to teach this course. I highly recommend trying it out.

The other fun thing I found, was a quick tutorial on making patterns in photoshop from Emily Cromwell. This is something I knew how to do about 15 years ago in my former life as a graphic designer and I forgot the shortcuts so it was super helpful to watch Emily guide me through the steps. I've been trying to participate in the making art everyday challenge sponsored by bardot brush and the theme today was ladybug...so I used that as my subject.

Here's the digital drawing in procreate using Lisa Bardot's Authentic Marker Brush set:

And this is the seamless repeating pattern!

P.S. It was totally 8. I watched eight classes on a Saturday afternoon. And it was sunny outside.
