Time after time

High school students really appreciate anything that takes them out of the routine of the regular school day. This time lapse/metamorphosis lesson did just that and yielded amazing results from my upper level students. We started with a tea ceremony where they had to engage and reflect on how the ritual of preparing tea engages the five senses. They had to think of other rituals in their daily life and choose a concept that they could visually represent going through a transformation or metamorphosis that engages more than one of their senses.

If this lesson seems like the perfect fit, you don't have to reinvent the wheel. The unit plan for this multi-week engaging lesson is right here.
